UA-5 provides specialist vegetation surveying and clearance support to the UK highways network. Working in two-person survey teams, our surveyors produce GIS-driven reports detailing the works required to maintain road safety, visibility and operational integrity.

Our assessments enable contractors to present full, accurately quantified vegetation scopes — reducing programme delays and improving the quality of downstream planning.

Our Methodology

Two-person teams, GIS precision

Pre-Mobilisation

Survey boundaries, location lists and route data confirmed. All required inductions and traffic management briefings completed. Surveyors briefed on highway safety requirements, survey standards and any site-specific hazards before deployment.

Field Survey

Two-person teams conduct vegetation risk assessments at each assigned highway location. Species, condition, risk rating and recommended maintenance actions recorded. All relevant details captured using GPS-enabled tablets. Traffic management requirements complied with at every location.

Data Validation & QA

Automated validation checks applied for data completeness and spatial consistency. Manual inspection of high-risk or anomalous locations before data release. All outputs reviewed against client specification prior to submission.

Reporting & Delivery

Survey data delivered in agreed digital formats. Weekly progress reports provided by route and surveyor output. Transparent audit trail maintained for all collected data. Final QA-cleared dataset delivered on area completion.
